Battlefield 2042 Update 3.2

Battlefield 2042 has just released its latest update, version 3.2, which brings some exciting changes to the game. The update features the reintroduction of the classic class system and a change to the default control layout, among many other tweaks and additions.

Return of the Class System

One of the biggest changes in the latest update is the return of the class system, a familiar feature in older Battlefield games. In this update, each specialist has been assigned to a Battlefield class, which represents the expected gameplay behavior of that particular specialist. This move has been made to encourage class-oriented gameplay and to provide structure to the game to help players understand the encounters while they’re on the battlefield.

Each class now has specific equipment and gadgets assigned to it, as opposed to the previous open selection. You can find the full list of class assignments, equipment, and gadgets in the patch notes.

Changes to the Default Control Layout

Along with the return of the class system, the default control layout has also changed. This is a significant change, so it’s important to familiarize yourself with the changes before jumping into a match.

Breakaway Map Changes

The map Breakaway has undergone several changes in the latest update, including a reduction in size to encourage more intense encounters. The workers’ village has increased military presence and fortification, leading to cleaner navigation and shorter distances between capture points.

Thermal Scopes and Suppressors

The update brings new thermal scopes to the game, which have been improved to allow for a more realistic and immersive experience. The entire screen no longer changes when using thermal scopes; instead, the effect is now only shown in the scope itself.

A new suppressor, the NVK-Box Suppressor, has also been added. This suppressor is designed for the NVK-S22 and is two suppressors welded together. The active protection system for the M1A5 and T28 is now available.

Changes to Air Vehicles

Air vehicles are now immune to lock-ons from vehicle-based weaponry as long as they’re flying below 30 meters from the ground. Height restrictions have also been put in place for helicopters to prevent some pilots from flying too high and unleashing havoc with lock-on launchers that can’t reach that high.

New Weapons

The update also introduces several new weapons, including the M39 EMR, MTAR-21, and PP-2000. You can find more information on these weapons in the patch notes.

Other Fixes and Changes

The latest update includes a long list of other fixes, including minor changes to the Battlefield Portal, gadgets, gameplay flow, and more. You can find all the details in the full patch notes.

Basically, the latest Battlefield 2042 update, version 3.2, brings back the classic class system, changes to the default control layout, and many other exciting additions and improvements. Whether you’re a seasoned Battlefield player or a newcomer, there’s something for everyone in this update. So, make sure to check out the patch notes and update your game to experience all the new changes.
