Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 is here and with it comes a whole new cast of characters to meet and interact with. As always, the new season brings a host of new features and gameplay elements, including new weapons and loot, map changes, and the introduction of vault keys. In this guide, we’ll take a look at all of the new NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1, and provide information on where to find them and what they offer.

Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 Battle Pass
As with every new season of Fortnite, the battle pass is back and it includes more than 100 rewards. These rewards include eight new characters and their alternate styles, new loading screens, back bling, pickaxes, lobby tracks, emotes, and more. The battle pass is available for purchase in-game and can be leveled up by completing challenges and earning XP.
New Weapons and Loot
Chapter 4, Season 1 brings a new pool of weapons and loot to the game. Two new unique guns are available at launch, and several other items have been vaulted or unvaulted. In addition to these new weapons, two new supplemental items are also available in the game. These include the Chrome Splash, a new throwable support item, and the Vault Key, which allows players to access new locked vaults filled with loot.
Map Changes
Each season of Fortnite brings changes to the map, both for gameplay and story reasons. In this season, the big storyline revolves around The Herald, a flowery villain who sits atop a throne of Chrome, a mysterious substance that is altering the chemical composition of the island. Two new named places of interest have been added to the map, along with new landmarks and other sights to see.
Fortnite Characters: All NPCs in Chapter 4, Season 1
There are many new NPCs to meet and interact with on the island. Each NPC offers specific loot and services that players can use to bolster their inventory. We’re currently still tracking down all of the NPCs on the island, but we’ll update this guide as we find more. Some of the new NPCs include:
The Blacksmith: Located in Dirty Docks, the Blacksmith offers players the opportunity to upgrade their weapons.
The Doctor: Found in Catty Corner, the Doctor offers players the ability to heal and revive themselves and their teammates.
The Scientist: Located in Stark Industries, the Scientist offers players the ability to upgrade their tech.
The Hunter: Found in Retail Row, the Hunter offers players the ability to purchase weapons and ammo.
Exotics and Mythics
This season’s pool of Exotic and Mythic-tier weapons is limited to three Exotics: Shadow Tracker, The Dub, and the Boom Sniper, as well as a secret Mythic weapon. These weapons can be purchased from specific NPCs on the island.
Vault Keys
Vault Keys are a new item that players can find and use to open locked vaults filled with loot. These keys can be found around the island, and we’ll have a guide on how to find and use them coming soon.
Zero Week Challenges
As with every new season, there will be a bonus list of weekly challenges before the first week formally begins. These Zero Week challenges offer players the opportunity to earn quick XP and level up their battle pass.
