Pro Players and Streamers Affected
Some Call of Duty: Warzone 2 players are claiming that they are experiencing disconnections and shadowbans after getting a specific number of kills in a match. According to Twitter user Jake Lucky, several of the game’s top pro players and streamers have shared footage of being abruptly disconnected after getting their tenth kill of the match.
Accounts Reviewed for Cheating After Shadowban
In addition to being disconnected, these players say that their accounts have been shadowbanned, which means that they are excluded from regular lobbies and placed in Warzone 2’s pool of suspected cheaters. Accounts that are shadowbanned are subject to review by the game’s developers, who will either clear the player of cheating or impose additional suspension.
Advised to Exercise Caution When Approaching Tenth Kill
Players have noted that the common factor in these incidents is the tenth kill, and they are advising each other to be more cautious when approaching this milestone. Some have reported that they have experienced the ten kill disconnect bug before, and that it took several days for their accounts to be cleared.
Issue Not Yet Acknowledged by Developers
At present, the issue has not been acknowledged by the game’s developers, but players can check their shadowban status and file an appeal on the Activision support page.
Season 2 Update on the Horizon
The upcoming release of Call of Duty Season 2 for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 is drawing near, and players are hoping that this issue will be resolved before the update goes live. Leaks about Warzone 2 have also indicated that a smaller Resurgence map may be added to the battle royale mode, potentially as part of the Season 2 update.
